- 6:45 - 8:30 PM - Dinner & awards ceremony
Theme & Motions
Theme: Environment
Beginner & Intermediate Prepare Motion: This house believes that major polluters should open their borders to environmental refugees
Novice and Open Prepared Motion: This house believes that the environmentalist movement should aggressively push for the introduction of environmental personhood into national and international legal systems
Registration & Fees
- $65 - Host-city debater (Saskatoon or within 100 KM)
- $55 - Non host-city debater (More than 100 KM from Saskatoon)
- If one partner cannot attend the team may be unable to compete.
- Debaters must attend both days.
- Payment can be e-transferred to director@saskdebate.com
- put the student’s name followed by PRO in the memo line
- Teams that cancel less than 48 hours before the event are not eligible for refund.

Observers
- Virtual Observers for Friday March 13 - Up to two virtual observers per debater may be registered on the debater registration form.
- In-person observers for Saturday March 14 - In-person observers do not need to register unless they plan to attend meals.
- Please be advised that observers who do not register for dinner can attend the awards ceremony but it may be standing room only.
Judge Requirements & Registration
Teams must provide:
- One judge for Friday evening (5:00 to 9:00 PM, Virtual)
- One judge for Saturday afternoon (12:00 to 5:30 PM, in-person)

Meals - Saturday March 14
Lunch and snacks will be provided on Saturday for debaters, judges, club coaches, and registered family observers.
Dinner will be provided on Saturday for debaters, judges, and club coaches.
- One family member per debater may register for dinner.
- If this family member is judging, dinner is free
- If this family member is not judging, there is a $35 fee
- We will let you know if more dinner sports become available
- To accommodate those who are observing Ramadan, the banquet meal buffet will open at 6:45 PM and remain available until after sunset.
Device Management
Students will not be permitted to use cellphones or other internet capable devices.
National Debate Opportunities
- Based on both performance at provincials, and during the season, students in may qualify for the Junior, Senior, of French National Debate Championships. To see the full qualifying criteria please the Qualifying Criteria Page.
- Hybrid teams (students from different schools) are allowed to attend both the Senior and Junior championships. However, hybrid teams are not allowed to break at senior championships (“To break” means to compete in the event finals). Being from the same debate club does not meet this criteria. Students must be enrolled in the same school to break at the Senior Championships.
- Invited teams may be required to attend SEDA arranged training sessions.
