Event Details
- Date: October 26, 2024
- Time: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Location: Virtual
- Divisions/Grades: Students in Grades 7 to 12 with previous experience in British Parliamentary style. Previous experience may include instruction from a debate coach, workshops, and/or tournament. There will be two division. The junior division is only open to students born on or after September 1st, 2009. The senior division is open to high school students.

- Rounds: 3 rounds impromptu
This event will qualify students for the Canadian National British Parliamentary Championship. Please view our qualifying criteria page to understand how teams qualify.
Motions
All motions are impromptu. Students will be given the motions at the event and will have 15 minutes to prepare their speeches. No research is allowed during prep time. We have resources to help students prepare for impromptu debates.
Judging
- All teams must provide one judge for the event.
- Teams that do not provide a judge may be unable to compete.
- Judges do not need previous experience. We provide a judge briefing at the start of every event to teach judges how to score a debate and give feedback.

- Judge registration will be open HERE from Friday October 11 to Friday October 18.
Registration
- There may be a limit to the number of teams who can register.
- If an odd number of teams register, some teams may be required to sit out one round.
- If you do not have a partner, SEDA will do its best to match you with a partner.
- Observers for virtual tournaments must be registered on the debater registration form.
- A registration from must be filled in for each student.
- Student registration will be open HERE from Friday October 11 to Friday October 18.
Tournament Fee
- $20 tournament fee per student.
- E-transfer to director@saskdebate.com by Friday October 18. Put the student's name followed by BPQ in the memo line.
- Teams that cancel less than 24 hours before the tournament will still owe tournament fees.
- We offer a 25% or 50% subsidy. If the subsidy prices are still a barrier to participation, please contact SEDA at info@saskdebate.com.
