Case Relevancy

Case Relevancy

Learn how to avoid the dreaded judge comment that your case wasn't quite "at the heart of the debate" or "the most important in the round". Over the two lesson days, students will learn to apply a series of tests to their arguments to ensure relevancy, and practice using those tests as impacts in their arguments to increase their value in the round. At the end of the week on day three, students will get to apply what they've learned in a round of debate with their classmates.

For debaters with several years of experience familiar with basic debate skills but are wanting to refine their skills and gain more complex ones. Often students in grades 7-9 or high school students new to debate.
