"Couterfactual", "worldview", "likely outcome"... all of these words are about understanding what you think the motion will achieve. Over the two lesson days, students will work on how to craft and communicate their own case stance, and how to go about refuting their opponents' case stance. At the end of the week on day three, students will get to apply what they've learned in a round of debate with their classmates.
For debaters with several years of experience familiar with basic debate skills but are wanting to refine their skills and gain more complex ones. Often students in grades 7-9 or high school students new to debate.
When:
- Monday July 20th 1PM to 2:30PM
- Wednesday July 1PM to 2:30PM
- Friday July 24th 1PM to 2:30PM
