Thanks to the generous support of Luther College High School for the tournament venue, we are able to provide a pizza lunch. The pizza lunch will be provided for debaters, coaches, judges, and volunteers. Please bring a reusable water bottle.
Who can attend?
- Grades 5 to 12
- Beginner Division: Grades 5 & 6
- Intermediate Division: Grades 7 & 8
- Novice Division: Grades 9 to 12 in their first year of competitive debate
- Open: Grades 9 to 12.
- There will be a French division.
Motions and Prep
Beginner and Intermediate motion: This house believes that the United Nations has failed.
Novice and Open prepared motion: This house supports Africa's alignment with China.
- Students should come prepared to debate both sides of the prepared motion.
- Student will receive the impromptu motion 30 minutes before the impromptu round.
Judging
- All teams must provide one judge.
- Teams without a judge may be unable to compete.
- No experience required. We provide training.

- Judges can be registered HERE between November 12 and 21.
Registration
- There is a cap on registrations due to school capacity. Please register early.
- Some teams may sit out a round if numbers are uneven.
- If you don’t have a partner, we will try to match you with someone.
- A registration from must be filled in for each student.

Tournament Fee
- $40 per student
- Financial aid available.
- Pay by e-transfer to director@saskdebate.com
- Put the student's name followed by T4 in the memo line.
- Teams that cancel less than 24 hours before the tournament will still owe tournament fees.
Transportation
SEDA is providing a charter bus from Saskatoon to Regina and back. Charter busses have cushioned seats, heat, wi-fi, and a washroom!
- The bus will load at 6:20 AM at the Sobeys Stonebridge, 3100 Preston Avenue South. The bus will return to Sobeys around 7:00 PM.
- Bus tickets are $30 per debater.
- Bus tickets are $30 for parents/guardians. If the parent/guardian is volunteer judging, they do not have to pay this fee!
- Students coming on the bus must be chaperoned. If they do not have a club coach, or their club coach is not available to attend, a parent/guardian must accompany the student on the bus.
- If you like, you may arrange for your child to be chaperoned by a different parent that is attending. We will ask who is chaperoning your child on the bus on their registration form.
