Hosting

SEDA’s partnership with member clubs and schools is at the heart of all of our programs and events. One of the biggest tasks throughout the year is hosting tournaments. Tournament hosting may be intimidating for many coaches and volunteers. However, with help from the office and effective delegation, hosting can be a manageable and rewarding experience.

If you are a new coach and have never been a part of the hosting process, we highly recommend contacting the SEDA office so we can help by providing training or resources.

If you want to gain more experience before hosting, check out our calendar to find out when upcoming events are, and to get in touch with the host.

Hosting is a skill that all coaches need to have. As a member of a volunteer based organization, all clubs are expected to host tournaments when they have the capacity to do so. Hosting can seem intimidating, but following this guide can make it much easier.

If you are a new coach and have never been a part of the hosting process, we highly recommend contacting current hosts and working with a mentor in one of the hosting positions before you launch right in. It can give you an idea of what hosting will be like before being completely in charge.
